5/6 Blue news

students in 5-6 Blue

Students in 5/6 Blue have been learning about natural disasters. This has been a focus of the majority of learning tasks in class as they collect research, read quality texts, summarise, create timelines, write and rehearse scripts.

Next week, students will begin filming their documentaries about their chosen natural disaster, explaining all they know about them and how communities can prepare for an incoming disaster.

5/6 Blue are also enjoying a hands-on approach to mathematics, science experiments with Mrs. Burgess and a golf program with Sefton Golf Club’s golf professional Craig. As well as learning and role-playing how to put out ‘friendship fires’ which have empowered students in 5/6 Blue to stand up for themselves when friends are upsetting them without turning disagreements into conflicts.
